We're Debt Free!

...at least for the moment. LOL I mentioned in a previous post that I've been listening to
Dave Ramsey, that Christian financial dude, on the radio everyday. TodayI'm going by the bank to pay off our only debt...our home equity line...and it's very exciting! Woohoo! I could have done this months ago, but I like to have a certain coushin of cash in our savings acct, so we kept that money and just kept making payments on the loan. How dumb is that??

Speaking of money, I've been buying too many kits lately. And now there is another one I REALLY want...but definately shouldn't get! Have you seen this one?

It's Melany Violette's Girls Edition CD. You get all these kits for $16.00! How can I not buy this since I'm a mom of twins girls? Argh.

Well I'm off to the bank, post office and then the park for a picnic lunch with Nana and Papa (my parents). TGIF!

Homework??

I just finished this layout about my girls' first experience with homework. Yes, you read correctly...HOMEWORK! They are 3.5 years old and I have them enrolled in a two-morning-a-week class at the Y. It's a kind of pseudo preschool class...they do crafts, a lesson, gym time, snack, etc. When I went to pick them up on Monday, their teacher handed me a stack of papers they had done along with a homework assignment! It just cracked me up.

That wasn't the best part. When we got home that afternoon, I told them, "Let's do your homework now girls!" and they both screamed and said "No! We don't want to do our homework. We don't like homework!!!". Now, how did they learn about homework? I've never discussed it with them. Is this something inherited?? Sheesh!

In other news...I've been turned on to Dave Ramsey, a Christian financial counselor who has a cool radio show everyday. He's all about paying cash for things and getting out of debt. I just pulled our credit reports and am working on our budget. It's fun stuff, let me tell you.

Along those lines, I am finally letting go of my college textbooks and just posted them on Half.com. They have a whole textbook section there and you can make some decent money. If you have textbooks in your attic, dust them off and make a little extra cash. If you need any music education textbooks...check out my sales. LOL

Thanks Gina...

...for getting me addicted to your blog. LOL If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out Gina Miller's blog. She's a digiscrapper/designer of course, but she has a way with words and posts about funny things like product reviews and asks for suggestions about regular, everyday things. Hmmmm....I've always wanted to be a writer...maybe I should take a crack at this daily blog thing!

So, to start off with...I'm going to post some random, off-the-wall things that are coming up for me today.

Pizza boxes: Gina mentioned in her blog that she wants to store her 8x8 layouts in hat boxes rather than albums, since she doesn't scrap in chronological order. Great idea! DH just picked up 4 medium size pizza boxes for me (new ones, of course) so I can create my own, totally free boxes. Then I'll get to work altering them and viola...storage boxes for layouts!

Sandbox stress: Does anyone else besides me get completely stressed out over the kids playing in the sandbox? I don't know why it bothers me so much. It shouldn't. I try to be a pretty cool mom and let the girls get dirty, run around...you know, be kids. We have one of those water and sand tables...

Now as far as I can tell, they don't even make this version anymore. Hmmm...I wonder why?!!!! The water gets in the sand, the sand gets in the water....argh!! And worse, usually the sand just ends up all over the driveway. Trust me...if you are going to get your kids a sandbox, just get the plain, old-fashioned kind.

I think it's going to rain soon. I actually hope it does. We've had a ton of beautiful, sunny days lately...so I'd welcome an excuse to stay in and be cozy!

Don't forget to check out Jeanine's chat tomorrow night at SBB. I know she's nervous so go and root her on! She's offering a cool freebie...check out her blog for more info.

Have a great weekend!

For some reason clicking the preview doesn't seem to work, so let's try it again:

Freebie: In The Pink

Since everyone else likes to share freebie on their blogs, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon! I don't make many kits and am not very skilled at it yet, but if you can use a pink kit, you are welcome to it! Just click the image above to download it. I'd appreciate a comment if you download. Thanks!

I'm in business (sort of....)

Yay! I just sold my first ever QuickPage over at 1HourScrap.com. I fee really honored that someone liked my work enough to actually PAY for it. :-)

I wish I could figure out a way to do a better job keeping my blog updated. I read Gina Miller's a few times a week and just wonder how she has time to keep up with it. Or anyone else who posts daily, for that matter!

I am going to be updating my list of rectangle scrapper's galleries in the next couple of days, so keep your eyes open for some new inspiration!
